What this is
Cosplay Contest is a website that runs cosplay contests for conventions. These terms are an agreement between you and Cosplay Contest. By using the site, you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the site.
The convention runs its contest
Each convention sets its own rules, schedule, judges, awards and prizes, and makes every decision about its contest. We provide the site they run it on. When you register, you accept the convention's rules as well as these terms. Questions or disputes about a contest go to the convention.
Your link and your account
- When you enter a contest you get a private link. Anyone with it can see and change your entry, so keep it to yourself. What is done with your link counts as done by you.
- Staff and judges sign in with their own account and use it only for the convention's work.
- Tell the convention at once if you think someone else has your link or account.
Entering a contest
- Give true details and keep them up to date.
- If a contest asks for a parent or guardian, the parent or guardian registers the child and gives their own contact details.
- You can withdraw your entry yourself until the convention's deadline. After that, ask the convention.
Your photos and details
Your photos and the details you give stay yours. You allow the convention and us to store them and show them where the site does: to the convention's staff and judges, on the crowd-vote page if you choose to be on it, and as a published crowd favourite if you win. You must have the right to share anything you upload. Nothing you upload may be unlawful, hateful, or unsuitable for all ages. The convention and we may remove anything that breaks this.
Voting
- One person, one vote. Sign in as yourself.
- You cannot vote for your own entry.
- No scripts, bulk sign-ins, or bought votes. We may remove votes that break this, and the convention may disqualify an entry.
Things you must not do
- Try to get into another person's entry, account or data.
- Interfere with the site, overload it, or copy it in bulk.
- Use it to harass, impersonate or deceive anyone.
What we promise, and what we do not
We work to keep the site running, especially during a show, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. The site is provided as it is. We are not responsible for a convention's decisions, its prizes, or anything that happens at its event. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage that comes from using the site.
Ending access
We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms or harms the site or other people. The convention may remove an entry under its own rules.
Changes, law and contact
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and of Canada. Questions go to hello@cosplaycontest.ca. How we handle your details is in our privacy policy.
